New this week

Meeting requests become a complete scheduling workflow

Calendar scheduling now lets you offer explicit dates and times with a meeting duration, start-time interval, post-meeting buffer, and minimum notice. Clients choose from a responsive private page that rechecks each option before confirming it, and the selected time becomes an appointment automatically. From the calendar, you can review all proposed times, edit or resend the request, copy or preview the client link, and permanently delete a request—with confirmation—when every proposed time and its link should be retired.

Learn how

Appointments are easier to share and confirm

Direct appointments now have a dedicated details drawer for editing, client email delivery, copyable invitation links, and a Preview as client action. Appointments can also be deleted through an in-drawer confirmation that clearly explains the permanent calendar change. Client-facing appointment and confirmation pages use the studio’s branding, omit private notes, and show only the relevant time and location details. A confirmed meeting always creates an in-app alert for the photographer, with separate default-on controls for photographer confirmation emails and client confirmation emails.

Learn how

Publish the exact times clients can book

Storefront availability is now an explicit set of 15-minute start times that can be managed from either Calendar or Storefront. Consecutive starts appear as a clean range on the calendar while remaining individually editable. The public picker only offers times that can fit the selected package’s full duration, and a completed request consumes every overlapping start so the remaining availability stays accurate.

Learn how

Referral rewards are live

Account and Billing now include a referral card with your private share link, active referral count, earned credit, annual-billing explanation, qualification terms, and progress toward the five-referral cap. Each active paying referral earns a monthly-equivalent 20% credit, up to 100%. Referral links preserve attribution for 30 days through email or Google signup without exposing the code in the registration URL, and referral-related global searches take you directly to the card.

Learn how

People now supports the whole creative team

In addition to Client and Second shooter, a Person can now be an Assistant, Associate photographer, Videographer, or Content creator—and can hold several roles at once. A compact role filter shows live counts, cards and search results display every role, and paid crew roles can carry a reusable default hourly rate. When someone has several eligible roles, adding them to a booking opens a role chooser instead of making an assumption.

Learn how

Booking-team invitations have a clearer lifecycle

Adding a team member now creates a draft without sending anything; Send invite is the explicit first delivery action. Each assignment keeps its own role and hourly rate, shows queued, retrying, sent, or failed email delivery, and supports retrying a failed send. Non-accepted invitations can be resent with fresh links, including after a decline, while accepted assignments remain final. Team contracts can also use a separate template for each supported role.

Learn how

Team assignments appear on the recipient’s calendar

When an invited team member has a verified Vignette account, the assignment appears on their calendar with the role, session timing, rate, estimated compensation, lead photographer, and location—but no client, contract, payment, gallery, or private booking details. They can accept or decline from the calendar or their signed email link, and the lead photographer receives an in-app response notification with an optional email alert.

Learn how

Gallery albums are faster to organize

Gallery management now has a dedicated album-order editor, with an always-available desktop action and a mobile action that appears when it will not cover the gallery cover. Selection actions and album actions share one clearer toolbar, album drop targets are easier to use, and failed reordering restores the last saved order instead of leaving the gallery in an uncertain state.

Learn how

Storefront links carry your studio identity

Sharing a public storefront now produces a richer social preview using the photographer or studio name, storefront description, and available brand imagery. The preview exposes only public storefront information and falls back cleanly when optional profile details are missing.

Learn how

Fixes and refinements

Scheduling conflicts are enforced across every entry point

Busy times remain visible but unavailable when creating appointments, meeting requests, or storefront availability. Vignette now checks bookings, appointments, blocked time, active meeting choices, published storefront starts, and pending or accepted team assignments as appropriate, then repeats the check on the server before saving. Stale client selections return safely without creating a contact, booking, or double-booked appointment.

Learn how

Calendar choices take up less space without hiding detail

Consecutive meeting-request choices and storefront starts are grouped into time ranges in both month and seven-day views. The temporary condensed/expanded request setting has been removed in favor of this consistent behavior, active choices keep a dashed treatment so they are not confused with confirmed appointments, and guarded appointment identifiers prevent malformed or stale entries from opening the wrong action.

Learn how

Large gallery downloads finish more reliably

Complete-gallery and selected-photo ZIPs are now prepared in the background while the client sees a Preparing status. The page polls until the archive is ready, then starts a normal browser download without holding the ZIP in browser memory. Prepared archives can be reused after navigation or retry, unavailable originals are reported without consuming the client’s limit, and the local remaining-download count now reflects only newly delivered photos.

Learn how

Subscription checkout resists duplicate attempts

Repeated clicks, refreshed pages, and overlapping billing requests now reuse or safely reconcile an active subscription checkout instead of creating competing subscriptions. The final plan state remains tied to the authoritative billing result.

Learn how

Team invitations recover cleanly

Invitation links now preserve their destination through authentication, signed Accept and Decline actions are single-use for each send attempt, and people without Vignette accounts receive a branded confirmation page. Declines remove the active calendar conflict while remaining visible to the lead until the assignment is removed or deliberately resent.

Learn how

Small workflow details say what will happen

The payment-plan amount editor now explains that zero marks a gift or comp. Booking contract summaries lead with the automatic template-generated contract behavior before describing manual alternatives. Dashboard customization makes the full row draggable and keyboard-focusable, and gallery and scheduling controls use larger, clearer interaction targets across screen sizes.
